Édouard MARES
A descendant of founder Louis Vernières, he is a lifelong Bastidian (he was born here and still lives here).
A pharmacist by profession, with a passion for «public affairs», he continued his pharmacy studies with a doctorate at the IEP in Bordeaux. He felt that through art and sharing his passion with others, it was one way among others to give of oneself and get involved in local public life. Not through traditional political involvement or the life of associations (of which there are many active in the neighbourhood), but through familiarisation with art.
The idea is to create links and novelty, and to provide easy access to activities that are sometimes little known to the general public.
It also means giving this place back to the people of Bastia, who have only known it for its large sliding iron doors, which have been closed for over 50 years.
Alexis GAUCHER-PIOLA
Lawyer, passionate about art
The two are friends, each sharing the tasks, and are keen to develop this project. The philosophy shared by both is that this project should remain primarily associated with feelings of pleasure and relaxation, and in which constraints do not exist.
It's still and always will be about sharing their common love of art.
