In the heart of La Bastide, a former industrial warehouse is set to host exhibitions throughout the year, with the first preview this Thursday evening featuring six artists.
The building tells the story of a part of the district's history. In the rue Paul-Camelle, a stone's throw from the Bastide town hall, the Vernières building brings back a whole era, that of a rich and prosperous industrial era. From the 1950s onwards, the hangar at number 65 was used to store and trade metal products. This week, this imposing building is returning from anonymity to become a place dedicated to art. Six artists, now friends, will be exhibiting their work here this Thursday 12 June during a short exhibition. And the owner of the premises, pharmacist Édouard Mares, has every intention of increasing the number of exhibitions and events over the next few years.
